From mid-June to September, when the pass is accessible and the route is snow-free but scenic.

If you're trekking in June or early July, you may get snow near the pass. Later in the season, the trail is snow-free but still beautiful.

Day 01 :

Drive from Manali to Jobra | Trek to Chika (10,100 ft)

Start with a 2-hour drive from Manali to Jobra, a scenic route with over 40 hairpin bends and views of the Rani Nallah. From Jobra, begin your short trek through pine, oak, and maple forests leading to the Chika campsite, set beside a gushing river and open meadow.

Day 02 :

Trek from Chika to Balu Ka Ghera (11,900 ft)

Trek through boulders, wildflower patches, and streams toward Balu Ka Ghera — your basecamp for the Hampta Pass summit. Stunning views of snow-covered peaks and open terrain await. The campsite sits by the river, offering a perfect stargazing spot.

Day 03 :

The most thrilling day. Start early and push through steep ascents and snow patches to reach Hampta Pass. Once at the top, soak in panoramic views of the Spiti Valley. After crossing the pass, begin your descent to Shea Goru — a cold desert campsite in the middle of nowhere.
